Escort Destroyers acquired from the Turkish Navy at the outbreak of war include HMS Inconstant and HMS Ithuriel. |
|
HMS Inconstant was originally called Muavenet and when she was returned to Turkey in 1946 she reverted to this name. HMS Inconstant was launched on 24th February 1941. Her sister ship HMS Ithuriel was launched on 15th February 1940 and was originally called Gayret. She was damaged by bombs on 28th November 1942 and it was decided that she would not be repaired. |
