| Muavenet Class Frigates (ex US Knox Class) 8 frigates in all were transferred to the Turkish navy. Muavenet, Adatepe, Kocatepe, Zafer, Ege, Karadeniz, Akdeniz, Trakya. These were leased originally to the Turkish navy but purchased soon after. In July 1993 the US Navy sold Harpoon missiles to turkey and these were fitted to this class of frigate using the ASROC missile launcher system. | ||
