| The
Mistral class was really a modified Cyclone Torpedo Boat, with splinter
armour. The Normand ship builders had urged the navy to except armoured
torpedo boats. over the previous 10 years but this ended up to be the only
class so equipped. The ship crews were fond of these vessels and
they had good sea going qualities. They served well during World war
one. Mistral was renamed Boree in 1925. (with her name being
transferred for use of a new Destroyer class)
Displacement: 113 tons. Speed: 26 knots. Armament: three 15 inch torpedo tubes, and two 47mm guns |
